Mahogany Black Arts and Cultural Center Awarded Federal Grant;
Announces New Collaborations to Elevate Local Black History
Racine, WI – January 1, 2025 – The Mahogany Black Arts and Cultural Center (MBACC) is thrilled to announce its recent award of a significant federal grant from the National Endowment for The Arts (NEA), which will propel the Center’s mission to foster creativity, cultural expression, and community development through the arts. This prestigious grant will support MBACC’s efforts to preserve and amplify the rich history and contributions of Black communities in Racine and Kenosha Counties.
In alignment with this vision, MBACC is proud to unveil a new collaboration with the Wisconsin Black Historical Society. This partnership will enhance the Center’s capacity to engage the community with meaningful historical narratives, ensuring that the stories of Black resilience, achievement, and culture are preserved and celebrated for future generations.
Additionally, MBACC is excited to welcome the beautiful Verdant Hotel as its newest community partner. The Verdant Hotel’s commitment to cultural enrichment and community support aligns seamlessly with MBACC’s objectives, making this partnership a natural fit for promoting arts and education in the region.
